Dr. Nancy Mendelsohn has deep expertise as a board-certified clinical geneticist for 28 years, caring for children and adults with rare disorders. She joined UnitedHealth Group in 2018 and served as the chief medical officer of the Complex Health Solutions team, helping to develop comprehensive care models for complex patients and families. She also serves as the senior vice president, medical affairs for genetics and rare diseases at UnitedHealth Group.
Prior to her position at UnitedHealth Group, Dr. Mendelsohn served as chief of specialty pediatrics at Children's Minnesota. She has 27 years as a board-certified medical geneticist and a national leader in the clinical genetics community.
Dr. Mendelsohn has more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and presentations. She has specific clinical expertise in lysosomal storage disorders, has served broadly within the state of Minnesota and on national committees for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Board of Medical Genetics & Genomics (ABMGG).
Dr. Mendelsohn completed a residency in pediatrics and fellowship in medical genetics at St. Louis Children's Hospital - Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, and traveling.
